Salvador

Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos - Holy Savior of All Saints Bay - is the original capital of Brazil (until 1763) and is one of the country's oldest cities. It is here where Vinicius de Moraes and Sergio Mendes grew up which enabled them to capture the essence of Brazil through their songs. Salvador is the place to experience music, especially during Carnaval. Now the third largest city in Brazil, it has a heritage of Afro-Brazilian culture, cuisine and religions. You will explore Salvador's rich history by observing the many churches and numerous world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO during your stay.

Lençois

The main hub in the Chapada Diamantina, Le‡ois flourished in the mid-nineteenth century with the discovery of many deposits of diamonds. Nature lovers find it a compulsory destination. Len‡ois was considered for the fourth consecutive year one of the top 10 tourist destinations in Brazil and voted best ecotourism destination in Brazil by a national travel guide.

Igatu

Igatu is a small village of 350 where Flintstone-like stone houses alternate with pretty pastel villas, all of which are surrounded by the lush fruit and vegetable gardens that supply much of the local produce. As for the splendor of its past, it has been reduced to a bewitchingly haunted area of ruined stone mansions overgrown with mango trees and wild orchids, where from time to time, an uncovered shard of fine European china evokes the grandeur that was Igatu in its heyday.

Praia do Forte

Praia do Forte is a charming village about 50 km from Salvador, from where one travels through the beautiful and comfortable "Coconut Road." Much natural beauty mixed with history makes Praia do Forte one of the most popular destinations on the coast of Bahia state. There are over 12 km of beaches with natural swimming pools formed by reefs along the coast. One of the main attractions is the Tamar Project, an organization dedicated to preservation and study of sea turtles. There one can see these small animals up close and even discover that some are not so small, reaching over 3 meters in length.

Maraú Penninsula

Outside of the traditional Bahia touristic circuit, Marau Peninsula, located between Salvador and Ilh‚us, is still preserved and unknown. The Peninsula, that spread out on the north way, with the Atlantic Ocean by one side and the Camamu Bay on the other, presents desert beaches and lagoons in its inside. Itïs a perfect place to relax and see wild natural landscapes. Great option for beach relaxation and/or for honeymooners. Good to combine with Salvador and Chapada Diamantina.

Capão Valley

Located in the heart of Bahia, Chapada Diamantina comprises one of the most beautiful landscapes of table top mountains, canyons, valleys, trails, caves and the most impressive Brazilian Waterfalls. Chapada is like an oasis in the wilderness. One can explore the entire National Park, from north to south, sleeping in different and small villages along the way. CapÆo Valley reveals astonishing landscapes, with scenery comprised of big waterfalls, stretches of the Atlantica Forest, mountains up to 1.500 meters in height, among other nature wonders. The valley is home to famous ecological paradises, such as Silˆncio dos Gerais, the rapid of Corrente River, the impressive MorrÆo and the abyss where the waters of Cachoeira Waterfall, the highest in Brazil, fall.
